I am passionate about fly-fishing and libraries. I have spent my career life in libraries and currently serve as the Director of the Pine River Library. I didn't discover fly-fishing until a decade ago, so I had to make up for lost time! In 2013, I left my job, purchased equipment and a camper, and fly-fished a river a week in the seven Rocky Mountain states, hoping to inspire others to follow their passions. In 2014, I wrote a book about the adventure called 52 Rivers: A Woman's Flyfishing Journey.
As a librarian, I know the value of storytelling, both from the experts in the field and from my own experiences. I believe that stories are integral to our survival because they help us to experiment with our emotions and strategize on the challenges we face in life. In my book I’ve told a lot of stories. They are about fly-fishing, the outdoors, traveling, people, challenges, joys and fears. I took leaps and stumbled although I always learned something valuable. In the end, my stories are meant to give you courage and inspiration to pursue your own path to a more passionate life.
