What is your role here at Maria’s Bookshop?  I have been a bookseller for 18 years, the book buyer of adult books for 13 years, and the general manager for 3 years.

Favorite thing about your role here:  I love so much about working at Maria’s Bookshop; the people, the community, and of course, the books!

What’s(re) your go-to genre(s)? General Fiction

Recent book you have read: So many good books.  Right now I am savoring the memory of The Heaven and Earth Grocery Store by James McBride.

Best drink to sip while reading: Chardonnay

Favorite format for consuming books: I mix it up with paper and digital books.  I have recently found the perfect earphones and am now enjoying audiobooks as well.

When do you read/How do you make time to read? Every evening, sometimes a little, sometimes a lot!

What book do you think everyone should read?  Right now, I am telling everyone to read James McBride's The Heaven & Earth Grocery Store

What book have you re-read the most?  I think it just might be Pride and Prejudice.  This book delivers on writing and wit every time!

Favorite childhood book: I vividly imagined myself living in the Metropolitan Museum of Art after reading E.L. Konigsburg’s From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler.

What book have you not wanted to end? So many!  There’s nothing like reading an amazing book for the first time and I am always happy to recommend them to our customers.  More recently, The Vaster Wilds by Lauren Groff but favorite oldies include Colum McCann’s Let the Great World Spin or Terry Tempest William’s Refuge.
