Meet the Authors: Saturday Morning Story Time with Jenny Sue Kostecki-Shaw and Uma Krishnaswami
Join us for a special Saturday morning story time featuring two regional writers whose latest books feature cross-cultural friendships and the rich world of modern-day India.
Illustrator and author Jenny Sue Kostecki-Shaw will travel north from her home in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains of Northern New Mexico with her new picture book for 5 to 8 year olds, Same, Same But Different, in which two boys living oceans apart, become the best of friends.
Author Uma Krishnaswami will read from The Grand Plan to Fix Everything, a story aimed at the 9-12 year old crowd, featuring 11 year-old Dini, whose family moves from Maryland to a small Indian villag, where she hopes to meet her favorite Bollywood film star, Dolly Singh.
We'll have a fun craft project to compliment the stories. Fun for the whole family--bring along all the kids!
