Meet the Author: Durango Memoirist Colleen Miller at the Animas Museum for Animas City Day

Join Colleen Miller, author of Crash Those Cymbals in Hell, Lorraine Grisky, for a special presentation following the annual luncheon for Animas School alumni at the Animas Museum, where she'll share her funny, entertaining stories of growing up in Durango.

It's still the Wild West in Colleen's Durango.

Colleen Miller grew up in her parents' motel in Durango, Colorado, during the 1950’s and 1960’s. A tourist town in the southwestern corner of the state, alive with people from all over the world during the summer, Durango became an isolated, typical small town the rest of the year. These are the stories of her childhood, filled with the hilarious, larger-than-life characters that populated her family and the town around them. Told in the words of a precocious child who doesn’t miss a thing, colleen has the courage to name it all for what it is, telling anyone who with listen.

After receiving a B.A. in psychology, Colleen went on to obtain a law degree and practiced personal injury and family law for 12 years. She is the founder of Lighten Up Consulting and is now working as an intuitive life strategist, executive coach and author. She is currently at work on her next book. Colleen also works as a transformational speaker and workshop facilitator, and has helped people all over the world rediscover their vision and passion for their lives and work. Colleen creates a safe and laughter-filled environment where people discover who they came here to be, learn from the past, and see themselves as the remarkable beings they really are. As people return home to their true selves, they find that inner power and unstoppability of their essential self.
