Our friends at Sexual Assault Services Organization (SASO) are bringing Andrea Smith to Durango as part of Sexual Assault Awareness Month activities.  Smith is a Cherokee, intelletctual, feminist, and anti-violence activist whose work focuses on issues of violence against women of color and their communities, specifically Native American women.  Smith Co-founded INCITE! Women of Color Against Violence, the Boarding School Healing Project, and the Chicago chapter of Women of All Red Nations. 

This event is co-sponsored by the Fort Lewis College Gender & Women's Studies Program, Women's Resource Center, Our Sister's Keeper, and Feminist Voice.
