andy gullifordFort Lewis College professor Dr. Andrew Gulliford will present an illustrated slide lecture at the Durango Public Library on how to "read" historic photos of Native Americans and how to interpret photographic "truth."  Gulliford will also discuss the meaning and importance of the book Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee, which has sold three million copies and is now published in an illustrated edition.  For the new edition Dr. Gulliford served as one of the consultatnts on the photographs, artwork and captions and he wrote a "Note on the Text and Art."  His lecture was originally researched and written as part of the New Mexico Endowment for the Humanities Speakers.

Maria's Bookshop will provide books for sale at this event, which has been rescheduled to this date, due to a snowstorm in December.
