Join us at the second annual 4Corners Green Living Expo at the La Plata County Fairgrounds, where our bookseller extraordinaire Chris will staff a booth full of our very best sustainability titles.  The Expo is an exhibition of the latest and greatest green products and services dedicated to making the world a better place while promoting a better life through smarter living.

The 4Corners Green Living Expo keynote speaker, Auden Schendler, will speak at the Smiley Building Saturday evening.Agenda 5:00 PM – Doors open, soup/snacks served, cash bar is opened 6:15 PM – Announcements 6:30 PM – Keynote speech by Auden Schendler 7:30 PM – Questions and discussion 8:00 PM - Book signing8:00 PM – Movie showing As Executive Director of Sustainability, Schendler oversees Aspen Skiing Company's environmental efforts, corporate contributions, and civic engagement. He also serves as Director of Aspen Sustainability Associates, a green business consulting practice. Schendler was reviously a research associate in corporate sustainability and newsletter editor at Rocky Mountain Institute, a LEED certified professional, Auden has worked as a residential energy auditor, high-school math and English teacher, Outward Bound Instructor, Emergency Medical Technician, planning and zoning commissioner, and energy efficiency researcher.  Aspen Skiing Company's sustainability work has been covered widely in magazines including Outside, Fast Company, Businessweek and Travel and Leisure, on Nightline and The Jim Lehrer News Hour. Named a "Climate Crusader" in TIME magazine's 2006 special issue on climate change,  Schendler speaks internationally on sustainable business issues, and has lectured at Yale, Harvard, Bowdoin and Colorado College. His writing on sustainable business, life in the West, and mountaineering have been published  in journals ranging from Harvard Business Review to  the L.A. Times, Salon.com,  Slate, Scientific American, the Philadelphia Enquirer, Paddler,  and three anthologies.Schendler's new book is Getting Green Done: Hard Truths from the Front Lines of the Sustainability Revolution.  Maria's Bookshop is seling tickets and will provide books for sale at this event.
