DESCRIPTION:<p>Support local literacy this holiday season through the Third Annual Families Helping Families Holiday Book Drive.  </p>
 <p>Stop in the shop to select a card off the holiday book drive tree\; each card features information about a child served by the Family Development Program of the <a href=\\"http\://www.lpfcc.org/\\" title=\\"family center\\">Family Center of Durango</a>.  Booksellers are happy to provide guidance and suggestions for gifts for that particular child\, and Maria's Bookshop will offer a 15% discount on all book drive purchases.  The books will be wrapped and presented to the children at their annual holiday party on December 16th.</p>
 <p>We're hoping to provide books for 75 children this year\, thanks to the generous support of our community!</p>

SUMMARY:NaNoWriMo TGIO Celebration
DESCRIPTION:<p>Every November\, tens of thousands of people take on <a href=\\"http\://www.nanowrimo.org/\\" title=\\"nanowrimo\\">National Novel Writing Month</a>'s challenge of writing a 50\,000-word novel in thirty days.  It's an anti-contest writing contest\, where the judges are missing\, the prizes are lousy\, and writers and non-writers alike have the time of their lives bashing out surprisingly unhorrible books in an absurdly short amount of time.  </p>
 <p>Maria's Bookshop will host the &quot\;Thank God It's Over (TGIO) Celebration&quot\; for our region.  <a href=\\"http\://www.nanowrimo.org/eng/node/3020879\\" title=\\"nanowrimo events\\">Other local NaNoWriMo events</a> will take place throughout the month\, providing support and inspiration for those involved.</p>
