To elaborate more specifically, I have three very close friends that I talk to regularly, see every month or so. I do go to them to get advice and fresh perspective on my relatioship issues itil training because I trust them, they are good people and I know they would never judge me OR my husband. Each friendships dynamics are different; one I talk to more via email and text messages, but she's got a very outgoing, strong, brutally honest personality that is hard (overwhelming) for me to be around in person sometimes. Another friend I've been close to for 6 years and I think she's a great person, but I don't have a lot in common with her anymore. I love these two girls a lot though, I have a lot of respect for them, we express our love for each other in hard times but otherwise, we're just not very emotionally open with each other about our feelings. My best of the besties I've only known for about 2 years, but she mcp and I have an incredibly close bond. We've been through alot individually the last several years and we have a lot of empathy and compassion for each other. She is emotionally a very open person and we tell each other how much we mean to each other every day.
If the people around you are so absorbed in themselves that they completely ignore you, then find other communities, like the FPA Forum (here). And you know what is usually connected to depression? Not doing anything with yourself! So whenever you feel depressed, go out there, volunteer, study-even jump mcitp training and holler! Either way, the point is to do something besides wallow in your misery all day and do something that will distract from the sadness. Also, try to see what you LIKE about your life, not the problems. After you have experienced life and have done whatever you want, ask yourself again if you wish to end your life. The answer is usually no. But if one is TRULY suicidal, then this is a serious psychological problem and mental health therapy is recommended.
